Yep, then we had a baby and moved to Clarendon (Arlington). Paid 3200 for a 2 BR for almost a year.. then we moved from nova. Daycare was going to be 1500 a month and we said frick it, we're out

The chick's better than in NOLA?
I really don't know much about the scene in NOLA

but in NOVA/DC the ratio is probably like 60/40 women. They fiercely compete with other women for the eligible bachelors. They're also likely to be well educated and well paid(most of the time)

There are drawbacks of all that of course.

We paid 2600 for 2 years by McPherson square for a 700 sq ft 1 BR with tandem parking.
Could you at least walk to work?

the building next to my office has 1BR for like 3500 and the only reason I would even consider moving my gf and I there is to roll out of bed at 850 and walk next door to my office

Most of the suggestions in this thread are pretty much in line with any advice I have. I live in Glover Park and my girlfriend is in Court House in Arlington. One thing you need to consider with your budget (if you haven't already) is parking. Parking, unfortunately, can be very expensive in this area.

Also, I was overwhelmed with how easy it is to get girls when I first moved to this city. I'm truly jealous you're a single guy who gets to move here with apps like Bumble and Tinder pretty much doing the work for you. Godspeed.

frick me to tears $2600 for a 1br?

My 750 sq ft 1 bedroom apartment in downtown DC was $2100/mo 4 years ago. I'm pretty sure that included parking but I'm not positive.

I live in Arlington right now, I pay about 1850 a month for a one bedroom that's walking distance to the fun parts. 800-1000 with roommates... You might be able to find a place in falls Church, but not where you want to live. If you work in lorton there's always Woodbridge, but you're way out of the city there.

Wasn't planning on moving to Woodbridge. Do you think I could rent a 2br, and within two months find a roommate?

I move up to DC the 2nd. Start work the 5th. That next weekend, or whenever LSU's bowl game is.

Rhodeside Grill will have an LSU watch party for the bowl.

Hopefully our game isn't in the middle of the day on a weekday

We really need to have a DC area Tigerdroppings crew get together. I'll be the lone wolf wearing a scarlet hat.
