I've always found that possibility very interesting. I think, IF he would be willing to recruit, he would be a great option.

McDaniels will be a HC in the NFL again in the not distant future. Why would he want to be a college HC

As an LSU fan that just moved to Boston and has really been exposed to his offenses every Sunday, I'd be really intrigued by this. He knows how to play to his QB's strengths and weaknesses. He made Jimmy Garappolo look like a pro bowler and had a Jacoby-Brissett-run offense dominate a semi-decent Texans team. It's really hard to win with a third string QB in the NFL. We could do MUCH worse.
