Convince me that Jimbo is the BEST man for this job. Still on the fence. Haven't been very impressed with him at FSU. Yeah he won an NC, but so did Miles. Will he be capable of competing in the SEC West week in and week out? This is not the ACC. He only has Clemson and maybe Louisville to contend with each year. Not quite the same as facing Ole Miss, TAM, Auburn, Bama, Ark every year.

To me, it seems like Jimbo hasn't been as passionate as he used to be. I would rather Herman, but I don't know what the talk has been lately. Overall, there are better options than Jimbo.

I'm 100% with you on this. Year in and year out jimbo has had very highly ranked recruiting classes and in my opinion, he's lost a number of games he definitely should have won. I'm not sold on Jimbo. I definitely don't believe LSU should pay him (Saban, Meyer, Harbaugh) type money. All that being said, I'm not certain who our next coach should be.

He wasn't an offensive Dave Aranda when he was here. There were plenty of disappointing performances.

First of all , he is truly a good man. Secondly, he knows offense and has demonstrated that he can develop quarterbacks. He has ties to LSU, and I believe that he wants the job. I think he can get Aranda to stay on and groom him (if Aranda wants to be groomed) for a future head coaching job with LSU. We must have someone who knows offense.

Think of the one area that, if greatly improved, could have won us 3 or 4 of the last 6 meetings with Bama...........

If you said quarterback, you're right!!!! Jimbo is an offensive mind but he will have great quarterback play to make sure that happens.

Jimbo is our answer. I'm on the Jimbo train!!!

Yes! We will be guaranteed a qb who will be well developed and he would have Aranda's defense to back that offense up!

He may be the one that a lot of people want, but he ain't the coach we need.

LSU's major downfall under Les was the QB position and offensive production.

Jimbo has made a career of developing highly successful QBs and offenses.

Who exactly do we need then?

Jimbo made first round draft picks out of EJ Manuel and Christian Ponder. /thread

so you are not sold on a coach that has these qualifications:

best qb developer in the country
1 NC
3 ACC titles
2 playoff appearances
75-17 overall, 44-11 in ACC
