So more free crap? Wasn't that their platform this election anyway?
No, they only use that playbook when the GOP is in the WH. They can't say 'People are starving' when Obama is president.
I'll update the 80s narrative to the near future...
Scott Pelley: Unemployment went down this month and wages went up. But that doesn't help millions of Americans who have been left in squalor...Americans like Pepe Gonzalez. We go to Leslie Stahl:
Leslie: Pepe Gonzalez is 8 years old. He lives in this ramshackle mobile home in Ville Platte, La. He is hungry. But there is no food. We talked to Pepe's mother.
Mother: We lived in a nice brick house when my husband was here. He worked very hard in the cane fields and we had enough food and some money for clothes. But then Trump deported him along with millions of other hard working people they call 'illegal.' Now, we never know where the next meal is coming from.
Leslie interviews Pepe: "I miss my Daddy. It makes me sad. I got a sandwich at school yesterday. I wanted to eat it. But I decided to take it home and give it to my little seester. She is only 5 and has no food. I wish Meester Trump would help me and my family."
You're gonna get this stuff on TV every day when good economic news comes out.
