My bad, in a thread about a man being beaten in Chicago, a post about how it's a perfect reason to have a concealed carry permit couldn't have possibly been misconstrued

You most certainly can. It's just expensive and everywhere and I mean everywhere is an exception. If a business has the sticker on the door, permit or not, you ain't bringing it in. And all public transport has that too and I seriously don't know anyone here who doesn't take public transport to work.
I thought about getting my permit but is it worth it if I can't actually go anywhere with it?

I really don't think this would happen in The South. The thugs know that there is a good chance that a driver here could be armed.

But as I've stated before there are numerous anti-violence and anticrime rallies, outreach, initiatives, forums, etc. is it working? I don't know. But the National black crime rate is lower than it was 10 years ago, although certainly not in some major cities . So it is not becoming more common place, as you stated .

And after the thug is killed the video will immediately be deleted and the man acting in self defense will be charged with murder and hate crime. The problem is that in Chicago, you can bet that most law abiding citizens aren't packing since the government effectively disarmed them all.
