Just scrolling through the golden hours now. This is my favorite so far.

quote:

This election has shown me a lot. It's hard for me to separate a Trump supporter and a racist. They go hand in hand as far as I'm concerned. Delete me, Unfriend and remove yourself from my life. You're not good for me or my "cute" black babies. You probably only associate with me because of my Husband's former career anyway! (not true. he went to Bama) I'm so done. I have my black kids' future to worry about. I won't let my son look up to a sexist and a racist. I won't let my daughter look up to a slut. Keep your defensive comments. Just delete yourself.
There are more. I'll check back.

i will not be on social media today. i can't deal with chuckleheads that voted for the 3rd party today (sorry nadar warned us, i'm glad so many people voted that don't usually. i am grieving that so many people believed the propaganda that american voting was rigged. hope that temporary feeling of being smarter than everyone else was worth it).

i voted for tons of 3rd party for other races this year, tons of libertarians & green & even a few republicans & dems. but i did not vote 3rd party for president. 3rd party MADE an appearance. they also screwed it up royally so now the supreme court will be assigned by republicans. the next 4 years are going to be hell on the stock market. damn it is tragic.
I thought Trump people were supposed to blame 3rd parties.

The good news, most of us now know who in our family and life are racist, homophobic sexist, xenophobic, bible thumping, bigots.

Two that stand out...

quote:

I woke up to a 21-year-old crying her eyes out. When I finally could understand the few words between the sobbing. I realiz?d she was saying "we have to move." I've been telling my children and friends that I'm moving for the last two years. Well…I guess I will be moving out of the country now. If you you know of any great places in Canada please share.

quote:

I'm so scared for our country, our freedom to choose, our environment, our native peoples and our wonderful immigrants and their families. We will have to raise our voices louder than ever before. We have to fight for love and equality and to protect our environment. We have to move forward. #heisnotmypresident

Oh holy frick.
quote:

I woke up. This was still real. I cried. Tried to find the optimism that has been so present within me since I moved to New Orleans. It's not there.

I can't be sad. I can't lose my energy. I know I have to fight. I have to use my privilege that I know exists because as I go down the categories of things that could likely change in the next year, most of them won't impact me. I have health insurance through my job, my current partner is a white male, not getting another abortion, I live in a liberal bubble here (haven't seen a single Trump sign).

Half of this country voted for Trump. I don't believe that 100% of them are outright racist (definitely lowkey), but enough of them are and enough of them feel empowered now. White folks, if you hear hate speech speak up. Straight people, if you hear queer bashing call it out. People who voted for Trump who have been saying he isn't racist this entire election cycle this is your job too. Prove it. Don't let the hate in your party become it's namesake. Protect the people you say you 'don't have a problem with'. Don't let that old uncle talk about n******. Be better than that.

Wow.

Relatives of mine that voted for Trump. I loved you. Now die. Die today. Everything you taught me. Every reason I loved you. Destroyed in your ignorance. I now care nothing for your passing. I will not attend your funeral. I loved you. I loved you. Goodbye.

We have been TTC for a few years. I took birth control this morning for the first time in years. I just can't imagine how you all feel knowing this is the world your children inherit. I am so sorry.

Brutal honesty is all I can fathom right now. I have no patience for the bigotry and closed-mindedness I'm seeing. Trump supporters may celebrate their perceived small business safety and expected moral representation of defeating Clinton, but they will absolutely hear my disapproval and intolerance of prejudice. A racist, misogynistic, megalomaniacal, self-indulgent greed monster was just deemed a leader of the free world. Well, I refuse to be led down the path where he's going, and daily interactions will not go unchecked if they insist I do so. Hard work, community, acceptance, justice, love. Keep everything else out of our interactions, and we won't have any problems.
