I thought it was just me, but seems like everyone is having the same strange anticipation and excitement about this game. Obviously we want and need this game, but that was true of the last 4 years. I really think it's the optimism brought in by the coaching changes. Somehow we knew that as long as Les was the head coach, the separation between Bama and LSU was going to continue to grow as we faded into a middle of the pack team in the SEC. I believe that Saturday is going to be a special night in the Valley!

A significant portion of the "Negas" don't know what this means, so it's unusual to suddenly feel something different.

It's weird... most fans still aren't sure "how good" this team really is. And it's been a tale of two seasons so far... everyone is just hoping the second tale hasn't been a fairy tale. I am just so ready to watch the Tigers play and am optimistic about the outcome of tomorrow's game!! Geaux Tigers!! Beat Bama!!

it feels like we've been cursed for 5 years now. not to be awful but to be good enough yet still fail, which is even worse because it gives you hope.

we needed to radically break our pattern and change our routine, like a slap to the face to snap us out of a haze. letting Miles go mid season might have been even better than doing it last year, because that was the quick hard slap that will hopefully wake us up.

It's a similar to feel to 01-03 when we were on the rise and everyone was excited about the potential of the team, and the new energy of being dangerous in the SEC. That's been squandered in the last few years, especially after 2011. Right now we are the dangerous, unpredictable team than no one wants to play, and it's really fun to be a fan.

Other than 2013, the optimism and anticipation for this game is just as high as it was in 2012, 2014, 2015.

2012- LSU was No. 5 going into the game and it was revenge for 1/9. Optimism was high

2014 - LSU had "righted the ship" after a big win over #3 and undefeated Ole Miss (who had beaten Bama earlier in the year)

2015 - Last year LSU was undefeated and ranked #2. Fournette was rolling to the Heisman going into that game.

If you go back pregame posts in '12, '14, '15 (when Les was the coach) I suspect you would find LSU fans just as confident then as they are now. There is a different reason for optimism and anticipation tomorrow, but it's no greater than in years past.

I agree about the optimism with the change.....but these two programs are not far apart. LSU had them beat with a minute to play the last 2 times they played here. That is not my definition of "fading into a middle of the pack team" and "separation" between the two programs.

Will a great test as to what this team is made of. I personally think that all the pieces are coming together at the right time and we are yet to see the best.

The first half will tell the tale Sat. night. If LSU can move the ball and make some defensive stops there is a good chance that second half adjustments will provide the kill shot. First halves have been sketchy for the Tigers and they can't let Bama get on them.
The whole damn country treats the gumps like they are unstoppable. Good defense and the offensive creativity SHOULD let LSU compete beyond anyone's expectations.

It's been beat to death, but keys to a win are simple:
OLine push
NO pass interference - KT and Jackson need to get their head around and will get opportunities for int.
No stupid penalties
Contain the qb
Create some turnovers
Use ALL the weapons
Keep momentum going when we get it

This team knows what hinges on this game, and they will be focused and relentless. They will play to their potential and O will keep them doing it for 60 minutes.

I'm glad this week is finally over. Look for a hard fought win.
