My wife is starting to have trouble with her honor 5x. I'm at home for a couple of months on medical leave so money is somewhat of an issue. I didn't want to spend over 250 dollars. I just saw a G4 on Swappa for 220. Is this a good deal or is there one better?

I still have my Nexus 5x but the screen is shattered and the sim card reader won't work. If it wouldn't cost so much to fix it that would make her a good phone.

I replaced screen and frame on my 5x in under 30 min for $40 worth of Ebay parts, as to the SIM card reader are you sure it is inserted correctly because this is an odd failure.
IF you have soldering skills the reader is dirt cheap, if not the cost of replacing the motherboard would be prohibitive combined with the screen

You can get a Nexus 5x on swappa for $250 or less. I just did it three weeks ago or so.

On paper this phone seems like a steal but having read the reviews it has a propensity to catch fire.

I honestly known nothing about it. Just giving you suggestions.

My Moto X Pure is still running strong after over a year. Good phone. Honestly I liked my Oneplus One better but I needed Band 12 and Band 2 for LTE at the lake house.

Depends on what you want to spend. Pixel is going to give you the best performance in a 5" screen. Most manufacturers aren't building "good" small phones anymore.

Two of those stood out in my search. Hadn't heard of Axon.

The HTC is a little bit more expensive but I hear it's an amazing phone.
The OnePlus 3 and the ZTE Axon 7 are the same price. Don't bother buying used ones on Swappa that are like $390. You can buy them from the manufacturer at $400.
The Axon 7 has better speakers by a mile. I chose the OnePlus 3 because I literally flipped a coin and it won.
ETA: Look into the Axon 7. It's the latest "flagship killer" and the reviews have been pretty damn good.

I never listen to music from phone only-always a speaker, so phone sound is not important. I can tell you something that is though-ATT sucks here. I have to have a Microcell at both office and home. My current phone doesn't always connect to it. I need whatever is best at low signal calls.

I had a M9 prior to going to Fi and the HTC ONE series is my favorite phone hands down.
