QB rating is certainly not the sole measurement of ability or performance but what is Jameis if Marcus was the worst QB in the league to start the year... 2nd worst? what are we talking about here?

You're right. QB rating isn't he sole measurement of ability or performance.

The 2nd worst QB in the league through 4 games doesn't earn potw honors.

Which QB would you prefer:
4 games of a 75 qbr in each, or a QB that goes 100, 100, 50, 50

There's a reason that Tampa Bay's offense is as good as it's ever been.

My point was and continues to be that there is little evidence to support any real separation of the two. You mention Winston as OPOTW in week one as support for Jameis. Is that supposed to be special? Mariota earned the same award in Week 1 last year and you said he didn't do anything special last year???

On the whole.... no, Mariota did nothing special last year.

Meanwhile, Jameis did the following:
Tied rookie record for TD passes in one game
2nd most rushing tds by a QB for the season
3rd most yards per completion in the league
3rd most total tds by a rookie QB ever
3rd most passing yards by a rookie ever

Jameis lead the Bucs to arguably their best offensive season ever.

Mariota lead his team to the #1 draft pick.

Yeah.... there isn't any argument for Mariota

Let's also not ignore the fact that Jameis is soon to be America's quarterback. He finna win multiple Super Bowls and multiple MVPs. You, and everyone you know will love him on the football field, but your love for him as a player will pale in comparison to your love for him as a human being when he becomes the single greatest mitigating factor in the relief of racial tension in the USA. Jameis for MVP in 2017-2020, 2023, 2025-2027.

Jameis for president in 2040

America's quarterback

The black quarterback we need, but don't deserve.

It's not s knock on Mariota. Jameis isn't going to just be better QB than him, he is going to be a better QB than everybody, and is going to be one of the greatest people to grace this earth. He will be mentioned amongst names like Elvis Presley, Charles Ingalls, and Jesus of Nazareth.

You troll.
Mariota's first 4: 86.5, 102.8, 46.8, 54.1
Winston's: 125.1, 39.2, 93, 40.1

Both had the latter in your scenario. Nice.

Meanwhile in his rookie year that you think was so terrible and complete dogshit, Mariota did the following:

-Best QB rating ever in first NFL start
-Became only 2nd QB (P Manning) ever to have 4 games of at least 3 TDs in rookie season
-Became only player in NFL history to pass for 250+ Yards and 3 TDs while rushing for 100+ in a game
-Became first player since Sweetness to score touchdowns of 40+ yards throwing, running, and receiving in single season
-Became first QB in NFL history to throw 6 TDs in first two games
-Highest passer rating ever recorded in first two career starts
-AFC offensive player of the week twice

Oh yea, and he would wipe the floor with Jameis in an election. First real Hawaiian Prez and all. Obama gone all Chicago on us.

Hawaiian Leis all over the Front Lawn. Go back to Bessemer, Jameis. Maybe you can get voted on the school board or something.
