Did Chavis leaving LSU negatively affect Les Miles?

I know this is off the wall and I know I should just let it go....but it gives us something to talk about during this off week. Just trying to figure out why Les was so stubborn about making changes that we fans could see needed to be done which Orgeron has done in just a few short weeks.
I wonder if Chavis leaving LSU negatively affected Miles. We all know the story....Alleva had a clause in Chavis' new contract that did not guarantee him a job at LSU if Miles left.
Les wanted Chavis to stay. After Les found out after the bowl game vs. Notre Dame that Chavis was leaving, it is my understanding that Les met with Chavis in the hotel room to try and convince him to stay. Of course, Chavis left.
It just seems that since then Les became even more conservative, stubborn, lazy, incompetent, or whatever label you want to put on it. I just wonder if Les did not care for working for Alleva any longer and he was just going through the motions and collecting his paycheck.

I'm certain Les did not take the handling of Chief's departure very well but the fact he turned around and hired Aranda, who some would consider one of the top DC's in College Football, indicates to me he moved on from it. I feel Cam Cameron staying had a much larger negative impact on Les. No sense in beating that dead horse though.

Yes, he didn't have as good of a defensive coordinator for the 15 season and the team suffered for it.

except he didn't....he turned around and hired Kevin Steele....the guy who WVU put up 70 on in a bowl game the last time he was a DC. And then that guy left Miles as well...then he made the home-run Arnada hire

Who cares. Both are gone and LSU is better for it.

Chavis saw they were trying to get rid of Miles. This was my big gripe with Alleva. Just get rid of him then, you wasted two seasons. That in itself should be enough to fire Alleva. Still a possibility you start with a whole new staff next season too.

THIS IS 100% CORRECT. LSU was trying to get rid of MILES, and MILES had a stipulation in all of his assistant coaches contracts that their employment was good only as long as MILES was head coach.
They called it the MILES RULE, which is what CHAVIS lawsuit was about.

No Mrs Miles. It did not.

Miles wasn't over at the football Ops building writing up contracts, baw.
Alleva tried to slip that in there because he wanted Miles gone and it costs LSU coaches for two seasons.

I'm led to believe Miles relied heavily on Chavis and Miles in order for him to run his elementary offense.

Les Miles negatively affected himself because he was too stubborn to change.
