If he beats bama and loses 1 or wins out he deserves a shot period. He would be millions cheaper so Lsu could go get the best OC in the country one that's proven and make an offer ya can't refuse. Just think best OC-Aranda on D- O and Craig leading revruiting. That's got championship all over it

So, underpay for a HC to overpay for a "hotshot" OC who, if he pans out, gets the next SEC job that opens up in 2 years, and if he doesn't work out, you have an overpaid OC?

In this hypothetical, why isn't LSU keeping Ensminger? He'll have proved just as much, if not more than Orgeron because Orgeron is a hands-off head coach that lets his coordinators and position coaches do their jobs.

Or so I've heard.

Y'all keep saying this, but O wants to run a pro style offense and who in the hell would be the best guy to even run that, that is an OC? It's a dying style in the college game and you'd need an arse load of money to grab one at the NFL level.

Of course then you'd have to figure out IF that NFL OC can even mold all these high school spread QBs into a college pro style player.

One of the simple main reasons I don't want O is that he still wants to run an offense that doesn't mesh with the surrounding high school talent. I have this really bad feeling that hiring O will keep us in this vortex of terrible to mediocre QB play for years to come.
