LINK
1- Lane Kiffin (Character issue and ND? )
2- Less Miles (maybe for only good guy factor not football)
3- Bob Stoops (Why would any better program hire him?)
4- Tom Herman (unproven, kisses boys)
5- Urban Meyer (Why would he leave OSU to go there?)

Why isn't Coach O on that list?

Because LSU is his dream job and it's a better job than ND.

Ohhh.. so he could coach at ND, he just doesn't want to. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Exactly. He's only good for LSU because his voodoo swamp powers will fuel our team to victory, but His powers only work at LSU apparently.
God there is a growing portion of our fan base that is just idiotic. I will support the team and coach o for the entire season and i hope we do win out. I also hope alleva has enough balls to say sorry O but someone with a better HC resume beat you out. You'll forever be a tiger and we would love to keep you on the staff, but if you have to move on we understand.

Kiffin and Miles have about as good a shot as I do.
Stoops would be a legitimate candidate, and we were supposedly fairly close to signing him in 2009. We didn't budge on a few non-salary issues with Stoops (which we ironically enough subsequently granted to Kelly). I'd be quite happy with Stoops.
Herman - maybe but probably not. The people I know around the athletic administration think it's a foregone conclusion that he's the property of UT or LSU, so we're not in the driver's seat.
Meyer - I wish. I still occasionally hear rumors from people I trust that he still has that itch, but I don't put a lot of credence in them, and he has a juggernaut going right now at a school where it's easier to win. It's a pipedream.
I'd imagine Stoops would be the very first call. I'd bet we would put feelers out to Petersen, too, just to see if there's any interest there at all. We'd probably feel out a few NFL coaches like Bill O'Brien and John Harbaugh to see if they have any interest and aren't completely happy in their current situation, though the likelihood of them leaving is vanishingly small.
It starts thinning quickly after that. Paul Chryst at Wisconsin would get a call for sure. I actually think Schiano might get a look, too - he had Rutgers well above their historical norm and has OSU's defense playing lights out right now.

What about Orgeron would you want him?

Stoops had his run but he's sort of worn out his stay in Norman at this point. I could imagine him going to ND. Actually a change may be best for all 3 parties (Stoops, OU and Notre Dame.)
Meyer no way.
Meyer no way.

None of them are possible.

ND is supposedly his dream school. He's always going to be on their "short list". But no he's not going to make that move unless harbaugh makes Michigan a tough team and he fakes another heart attack
