Coach O is absolutely the right guy to have taken over. The question is what will the program look like in 5 years if it's turned over to him. The team's record the rest of the season won't really give us any indication of that.

Thank God....someone gets it.

I get the bar was low after our start but you people going ga ga over the guy for blowing out teams we should blow out.

Its a great story and I have no doubt he loves this school and wants the job badly, but so do a lot of people and that doesn't make them qualified to run this program.

How so. He's undefeated and had record setting offense.

And, for the record, USC thought the same thing.

if he gives to job to O based on 7 wins

So you are telling me if he wins the next five, one of the toughest finishing schedules a team has ever had, to end a season. Against a #1 Alabama team with one of the GOAT coaching units, an aTm team thats swinging for the fences and a Florida Rivalry game that just heated up because of a-hole drama. All of this while taking over Mid season from one of the most winningest coaches in LSU history, with a coaching staff he didn't appoint. You're telling me that wouldn't be enough of a test for this coach to get a shot at the job. They'll make a movie out of this if it happens yet our fans would have the coach sacked in the final scene. God help us, our fans are damaged and delusional.

not wanting Ogeron to be the HC makes you retarded? So the people that want him for beating two awful teams are the smart ones? OK

The easy safe hire may not always be the best hire.
You have one chance to get this right or you set the program back a decade, look at Tenn and Nebraska.

LSU is not immune to it and neither is a team like Bama when they have to replace Nick one day.

O will have his chances to prove his worth.....

I don't want him as head coach yet, because I know after this 5 games stretch we will know if he has changed.

No, but asking the rant for validation makes you a pathetic person.

it would be an accomplishment and enough on his resume for a lower tier job to give him another shot, yes.

regardless of the outcome of the games hiring O would be a massive risk. He's shown no ability at all to maintain and build a program, he failed miserably at it once. He was able to bring in talent, but it took Houston fricking Nutt to do anything with it. He'd certainly have more resources here than Ole Miss, but his on field results there still should have been better.

No one questions his ability to recruit but it takes a lot more than that to compete with the elites.

Being successful as an interim coach does not equate to being able to manage and sustain the entire program. This would be like stepping in to do a powerpoint presentation for another guy because he got sick. Sure you could come in and read off the slides but that doesn't mean you know wtf you're talking about at the end of the day.

Miles was not the second best anymore, at one time he was but the last 2.5 years he was not.

If he wins out them it will be really hard for LSU not to give him the job. I would prefer to hire someone else but I sure as hell hope he wins out.

I would. I don't think CEO can sustain a championship caliber program which is what we need badly.
