You could be right.....but I think Coach O is the perfect candidate RECRUITING wise in the state of Louisiana and in the south. I dont think there is a coach out there who can recruit down here the way he does.

If we give him more time and the right tools and let him prove himself this interim season and as a head coach I DO think he can out recruit Saban and lock down the state of Louisiana.

The dylan moses thing doesnt count....kid loves attention with his recruiting.

Give Coach O the chance and I think he will surprise a lot of people.

regardless of the outcome of the games hiring O would be a massive risk.

I agree, but hiring any coach is a huge risk. I think as LSU you have to give Herman and maybe Jimbo a serious look, but if they don't bite which is riskier?

1) Coach O, keeping the current coaching staff and getting a new up-and-coming OC, or

2) Larry Fedora and Gene Chizik?

Time will tell; Herman coaching LSU would really excite me, but it may be that the program would be better off with Coach O bringing in a new OC and keeping the bulk of the current coaching staff (Aranda, Juluke, Craig, Grimes, Raymond, etc.) Any new OC would probably want his own guys and Aranda might want to bring in his own DL and LB coaches....

I lean towards Herman and maybe Jimbo regardless, but if we strike out with those and O does well (losing to Alabama and maybe A&M) and he can keep the majority of our current coaching staff I think I'd rather roll with that than Fedora/Gundy/Fleck, etc.
