Fleck is good, but it doesn't take much to beat the competition he is up against.

Except it does. He doesn't have SEC resources and talent pool while playing in the MAC. A lot of the MAC recruits the same players and he outworks the others for the best of those players...at Western Michigan. Western is a middle of the pack MAC program.

What I am saying is I think there is a certain amount of parity in the smaller conferences. I don't think any team is getting way more money for recruiting, or sigificantly better players.

So a good coach or a special player can tip the scale big time. But that doesn't mean they are a great coach.

Look at Doc Holliday (Marshall was 13-1 in 2014) or June Jones (Hawaii was 12-1 in 2007 and 12-0 before they hit the buzzsaw that was UGA)

Neither of them are really that great of coaches. I know WMU probably doesn't even have the history that Marshall has, but Hawaii has no history.

I just think he has a huge question mark whether he is a great coach, or just the best coach in the MAC.

obviously. he has a MAC talent pool and MAC resources. just like the rest of the MAC.

Brady Hoke was in the MAC too. he took Ball State from 4-8 to 12-1. heres what he did a Michigan...
