Okay. How do we prove that we are fans of LSU in this class action suit? I'm gonna be pissed if I find out that a Bama fan got some money by pretending to be an LSU fan.

I'm down. We could get SFP to represent

I think a lawsuit is reasonable but I don't see grounds for a class action. They should forfeit if the cocktail party isn't moved and if it takes a lawsuit to force the forfeit than so be it.
It wouldn't be a class action though.

Also, frick 11/19. Only way this game is played is if cocktail party is moved.

I just noticed this. I am too, so neither one of us are probably not making any sense.

Like I said, I am drunk posting, so I am talking some kind of lawsuit against UF/Gainsville & the SEC Office for loss of revenue

Season tickets or donations or basically booster classification per NCAA would be the only way.
Or submit TigerDroppings post history.
The OPs idea is dumb, just responding to your question.
Edit. The first part was serious, the part about post history would get a lot of people locked down on a psyche hold.

The only option I see is South Alabama suing for more than their buyout. Suing for losses in exposure, recruiting, and opportunity for their players.
That's what a buyout is for. The 1.5 is the damages they agreed to in their contract. No they could not sue for more, any claim would be dismissed

Do you think that a Wal-Mart receipt for an LSU shirt would suffice?

So you are saying BR area restaurants & bars (& Riverside Towing ) would not take a major hit if LSU loses a home game. Its not all about the payoff of South Bama, its about revenue of the entire city of BR.

Not if it doesn't specify whether it's toonces or not.

You should read the deleted board.

If true then no doubt. I figured no suit was likely, this was only scenario that made any sense IMO.
So what are we actually paying them to play. It would have to be significantly less than 1.5, 500k?

Based on what's not deleted, that's a scary thought.

I cannot wait to watch "Sports Center" tomorrow when they report on possible lawsuit by LSU/BR against SEC/UF/Gainsville, all because of this thread.

Can we bypass LSU and the SEC office and file a class action if we are forced to play 11/19?
The short answer is no.
There are several complications to this potential lawsuit.
At the present time the only LSU fans that could claim a loss would be those who didn't receive a full refund from the cancellation of travel arrangements. Even then, those were made specifically for a sporting event and there are most likely laws on the books that protect institutions from such suits (like how airlines are almost completely held harmless when they cancel your flight).
The second big problem you run into is the loss of revenue from the loss of the LSU home game. There again, this is centered around a sporting event and there are probably laws that prevent such suit. Be that as it may, the only people who could claim a loss would be those that have businesses and then they could only claim it after the SEC/LSU/UF/SA make an official decision to move the game.
Third, you couldn't sue to have them return the game to Tiger Stadium, you could only sue for financial remuneration. In effect, you could win and the game would still not be played here. And I guarantee that were you to win said suit, the SEC/UF would want to spread the blame to LSU (possibly even SA) and they would have good cause to do so. Do you really want to incur extra cost against LSU?
Lastly, I highly doubt that even if LSU wanted to they could bring suit against the SEC or UF. I'm sure that in the bylaws of the SEC there are restrictions on members suing for such losses and also regulations governing the authority of the SEC to make such decisions irrespective of the member's objections. These would be bylaws that LSU agreed to when joining/forming the conference.
We're basically up the sanitation canal without a means of locomotion.

It's like someone telling you to not watch a certain video, but you do and end up regretting it. The deleted board is like 2 girls, 1 cup. I wish that I could unsee it.
