Can you give me any ideas or what direction I need to follow in order to establish a credit score? I appreciate your response in advance

Get a secured credit card. Use it for 1 or 2 purchases a month, and pay it off each month.

Get a credit card
Use it to buy your gas every time
Pay it off at the end of the month

Both of these answers above. Another alternative, some furniture stores are more lenient for borrowers with little to no credit. Try someplace like Conns if you need a new refrigerator or applaince and get a 12 month installment payment.

Do the payments on the installment plan transfer to your credit report?

I know Conns does but you can try looking up someother stores in your area to see if they do as well. I think the best way to go about it is a secured credit card though from your bank or credit union.

There are a lot of stores that offer no interest on purchases. I know wal mart and best buy both report as credit. Purchase you a new TV or something of that sort, make payments. I also would do like other people and get another credit card to pay for gas then pay if off every month. I would get as many as you can to start off, otherwise you will build your score then instantly hurt it if you get another. I would get a no interest one and make payments, then get another through your bank for gas...just pay it off every month.

in reference to the furniture/appliance deal earlier. I financed my bedroom set from furniture row, and their bed store, on a sale for 24 months interest free. It was on a capital one credit card. I know for a fact they reported. Also make sure to watch it carefully, though. The tried to charge me interest the first month, and I just called and they had it credited back to me.
