Let's focus on improvement despite injuries, players who are actually good

Mainstays:
Drew Brees
Terron Armstead
Cam Jordan
Zach Strief
Max Unger
Delvin Breaux
Thomas Morstead
Good with a chance to be great:
Michael Thomas (He's already impressive and keeps impressing)
Brandin Cooks
Craig Robertson
Sterling Moore
Coby Fleener (I put Fleener in here because I think Drew Brees will get in his ear and get him going)
P. J. Williams (Extremely athletic, aggressive and physical corner...please get healthy after the injury)
Kenny Vaccaro
Nick Fairley (He seems to have been a presence here...he's on the cusp of this tier and the okay tier)
Okay with a chance to be good:
Tommy Lee Lewis
Ken Crawley
Tyeler Davison
Daniel Lasco
Senio Kelemete
Michael Mauti (May just be a special teamer, but could be a mainstay on the unit)
Will Lutz (Has the leg talent and distance to do special things...could elevate to the next level)
Vonn Bell (Bell could elevate into the next tier with more playing time and added muscle to his frame)
Brandon Coleman
There are other players to be optimistic about. Hau'oli Kikaha and Sheldon Rankins, for instance. I saw good things from Kikaha last year and being that Rankins is a first round pick, I have high hopes for him (all indications were that he was having a good camp).
The Saints do need to add quality depth along the lines. We need guards, we need defensive ends and a middle linebacker. Same old story. With cap space and another draft next year, this should be the year we can finish retooling except at QB. Although, it's sad to say, I think the Saints have squandered the best of Drew Brees for a while now.
I had Stephone Anthony and Andrus Peat in the okay with a chance to be good category, but I need to see more and better play from them. We should not be saying that about first round picks from a year ago.

Kikaha is never gonna do anything.
too small to play DE, can't cover as a LB.
oh and the 3 ACL tears.

Davidson is good. Our run defense was very good the first two games and he was a big part of that. The Falcons were able to run it up the middle at will with him out.

If mainstays means one of our better players I would add Fairly and Vacarro (year 1 and 4 version).
Would not have fleaner any where near this side of good.
Moore seems average and I don't see him heading to great.
Okay with a chance to be good:
Would only remove Coleman as I don't think he will ever be "good".

Not sure I'd go that far. Personally I would rather have Swann there, I love what I saw from him while healthy last year.

Michael Thomas will emerge as our elite WR1. Dude is fast, tough, and has great hands. He's the complete package

We're set at WR and that's basically it. QB with Brees is obviously the answer but he's a couple years shy of 40 and we've got no one behind him. This roster honestly needs to be gutted badly, scouting department and front office as well.
Mark Ingram, Brandin Cooks, Willie Snead, and Michael Thomas will be fine weapons for any QB to come in and inherit but we have to fix the OL and we need a mass exodus on the defensive side of the ball. I would say trade Cam Jordan while he still has value and get some decent round picks for him. I would even go the St. Louis Rams route and keep going DL until you've got 4-5 guys that can just come in and go after the QB.
