Offensive line coach needs to go

We are not going to improve until our offensive line is able to run block and pass protect. Neither are good and they need to be excellent to compete in the SEC. Alabama knows how to block and seal off the ends for sweeps. Our guys have no idea. Alabama uses a lot of misdirects, our guys have not idea what is. A major change is necessary if you are going to improve the offense. So O needs to address that problem now and replace Grimes has Offensive Line Coach. In addition his resume' is not good and stats are horrible for three years at LSU.

Please don't say Mawae
I think it's personnel this year, they miss the two tackles Hawkins and Vadal. Pocic is not a C.

Les Miles' departure will allow the offensive coaches the chance to do their jobs.

Thank you.
I feel enlightened.

Grimes is beloved by O & staff. Let's see what happens when our 5 o-lineman don't have to block 8 guys.

Give Grimes a run post-Les.
The fact they were not evaluating opponents enough tells me a lot. You may be surprised how good they are moving forward.

Grimes did not recruit hardly any of these guys currently playing on the OL...but he has recruited and got commitments from the best OL class in a very long time coming in next year...you're a newbie and a know-nothing...Grimes coached and recruited the OL that won a National Championship at AU...duh!

They were not even watching film, this is on Les at the end of the day and he is gone!

It's beginning to look that way...

Grimes did not need a good offensive line at AU. He had an unbelievable quarterback that ran through and around people. A one year success is not much of a resume and look at what has happened in the years with LSU.

CEO would take his DL up against Grimes and his OL daily. I am sure that he knows whether or not he is a good coach. But being a good OL coach has nothing to do with the fact that we constantly were trying to block 8 or 9 defenders with 5-7 offensive players. The numbers just do not add up. Add in the fact that we had no time to prepare for tendencies? No wonder Bama would eat our lunch.
I am willing to give Coach Grimes a chance, especially considering that Miles was an OL, so he probably messed with Grimes the most.

Look, I'm telling you guys that it is all about recruiting big, TOUGH guys like shorty does...athletic guys are fine if they are tough enough to grind it out in the trenches...but 4 quarters requires damn tough dudes...and we have been short of that item...jmho

Why don't we give it a week until we make our decisions on firing any more coaches.

In all seriousness Kevin James Mawae would be an ideal candidate for offensive line coach. He lives in Baton Rouge and played under many great coaches in the NFL and become President of the NFL Players Association after Art died.
We need that experience and knowledge to teach the OL line.

Ok Kirkland Mawae. We get it, you want your dad back in Baton Rouge.

All assistants need a chance to be judged now that Miles is not around. It could make a huge difference in performance...or prove incompetence.
