I really like what he is doing with 2nd and 3rd string QBS. he would probably recruit well to

He was pretty much a disaster as HC. Great coordinator though.

Sadan was a disaster as head coach in Miami.

08Tiger has a very valid point here

He would be a top tier hire. But I don't think he comes down to college. He has to much success behind him and he's being mentored by one of the greatest coaches of all time.

It's a risk, but I'd be intrigued, and I would have an open mind about it, if he were hired. Sometimes, these NFL guys work out well in college.

Why would he ever do that? He is a NFL guy. Much better and easier gig.
Only washouts like Crowton and Cam go back to school

He'd be gone at the first sign of an NFL opportunity

NFL coaches seem to fail or be mediocre at best more often than not
It's because they run their programs like NFL teams, its two different games. You can't approach preparation with a college team like an NFL team.

Carroll spent a decade in the college ranks prior to moving to the NFL. He was a great recruiter and defensive coordinator. And understood his responsibility
McDaniels worked one year as a flunky GA, then dropped away from coaching. He has never had a position of responsibility within the college ranks, and probably doesn't want one. But college is a different beast.

Saban was a successful college coach before he flunked out of the NFL.

JM is a NFL coach. He doesn't have recruiting experience and "building" a program.

and McDaniels was an NFL head coach at 33. That means something. He's 40 now. He's not the same coach as he was at 33, prob like you weren the same person you were 8 years ago.

If you recall, he came in and cleaned house in Denver and lost the trust of his remaining pieces. The actions in his first week as HC led to his demise.

I think he has to be considered.
