This is closer to reality than anyone is thinking.
I want Herman as much as the next guy but so does everyone else who has a vacancy or will. USC will be stiff competition.
Not to mention things are going extremely well for them right now in Houston. If they were to win out and make the playoffs, I don't see him leaving. As a coach, it is definitely a big deal to get a job at a big school like LSU but it is an even bigger deal to build a program into a powerhouse yourself.

Yep. He could be the Bowden of UH. And with the playoff he has a better chance to prove himself on the field. In the BCS era he'd already be out of the running for a national title.

I have lived in Houston for 36 years. Unless UH is winning (like now) they get very little fan support or media coverage. It is not that attractive of a football program. UT and A&M (and I would venture to say LSU) have more support in Houston. That being said, UH has some very wealthy alumni who can put up money but they can not outbid LSU, UT or A&M. I think Herman can be enticed to leave UH.

A gang buster coach at LSU, and a resurgent Texas (plus A&M) could make life miserable for recruiting at Houston
