Comparing final 5 minutes of LSU vs Miss St to last 5 minutes of Ala vs Ole Piss

Haven't seen this discussed (maybe it was, but couldn't find it), but how similar were the last 3-5 minutes of the LSU vs Miss State game and the Bama vs Ole Piss game? Bama has an 18 point lead with 5 minutes left in the game and OM drives 78 yards in 12 plays and scores with 2:59 left on the clock. OM does an onside kick that it recovers. The kick and bounce of the kick are almost exactly like the Miss St onside kick (i.e, perfect bounce). Bama only has 5 players on that side (just like LSU) and OM has 6 players on their side. LSU and Bama's kick return/good hands formations are exactly alike. Bama didn't recover the on-side kick either. OM scores on 1 play (about 37 yards) and cuts the lead to 48-43 with 2:51 left. OM kicks off and Bama runs out the clock. The only difference, LSU's offense didn't run out the clock, but the LSU defense holds Miss St to a 4 and out. Bama's coach, who made almost the exact same decisions as Miles with the same results in the last 5 minutes of the game, is seen as a hero. LSU fans say that Miles is soft, didn't practice the onside kick (which Miles admitted), made it too close, etc. Granted, OM is light years ahead of Miss St, but Bama is light years ahead of LSU, so the match ups were relatively similar.
Can anyone explain the difference to me? Looking just at these two games (nothing else), how is Miles judged any differently than Saban in this big game for Bama?
If you want to see the Bama vs Ole Piss game, you can see the whole game (or go to the last 5 minutes at game) here:

Don't compare Alabama and LSU or Saban and Miles.... two different world

1. Ole Miss is better than MSU.
2. Bama wasn't at home.
3. Bama overcame a 24-3 deficit so the coach built up a little goodwill. They were happy to get out with a win.
4. The fact that their offense killed the clock might seem small, but it goes a long way in explaining the angst with Miles.
5. Maybe most importantly. (and you said it yourself) how is Miles judged any differently than Saban in this big game for Bama?
It was a big game. 1 of the biggest on their schedule. We should have been tuning up against MSU.

The difference is the idiots on here who are complaining about the end of last week's game HATE Miles and think everything he does is stupid, and they LOVE saban and think everything he does is just the coolest thing ever.

Bama wasn't winning by 21 points at half. They were losing actually.
More of the gripe comes from the entire second half (and the history of sitting on leads) rather than the flukey last 5 minutes.
But it's a good example of why you play a full 60 minutes and put teams away. Flukey shite can happen.

You just rustled the rant talking about Saban. The LSU "fans" on here hate when anything remotely negative is said about Saban. They are a weird bunch.

this.
both coaches make mistakes. in fact, ALL coaches do. the fact is, right now, Miles has no margin for error.

Talent wise? Alabama is on par with LSU. There is wider gap of talent between Ole Miss and MSU. Regardless, any similarities are pointless considering we will play both teams anyway. We will see then how we stack up. And f*ck Saban.

Alabama's offense also scored several times while coming back themselves in the second half before Ole Miss staged a comeback. LSU's offense struck out the second half for the second week in a row and gave MST the opportunity to come back. I am not bashing Miles for that, but spinning it to compare Alabama and LSU doesn't quite measure up.

Not to the chattering Miles sycophants on this board. There are incapable of distinguishing between Miles and Saban. It's pretty embarrassing.

Difference was Bama players knew what they were doing and help up the initial wave for the back man to get the ball (which didn't happen but it was done correctly). LSU's players were not in the same alignment and didn't play the kick the same way.

Well that's just false and a fun rant meme. You can want a new coach and not hate the man.

Being a watcher of both teams, I'd say this: The Ole Miss onside-kick recovery and quick-strike touchdown were a huge letdown from a fan perspective in terms of team performance. That being said, they were probably the first major letdowns in execution so far this season.
Every team provides let down moments like that. I think the difference squarely lies in the frequency.

Scumbag Satan can NOT be responsible for anything negative. It wasn't his fault. It was:
A. a players fault
B. bad luck
C. another coaches fault
D. a players fault
