Sure. I've been making corn dogs lately. I made shrimp and I also made smoked sausage corn dogs. For some, I just put the links on and for others, I grilled the links a bit and then fried them. I rolled them in cornstarch to get the batter to adhere as suggested by Alton Brown. I used his batter recipe. They were darn good. I thought about mixing sausage and shrimp, but they might be too long for the fryer I was using. I made sort of a dijon mayo sauce for them. Actually, Durkee's sandwich spread is pretty good on these. I'm a Durkee's fan.

Like the idea, most likely use some other types like andouille and hot sausage. Maybe deer sausage.

Ketchup on a corn dog? Blasphemous.
