Agreed, best episode in a long time and the booms were hilarious. Plus, something actually happened to advance things (the nuclear fire).
Also, it kinda got back to one of the things that made the show so great in the first place...Phil doing random shite due to civilization being gone. He and jasper sliding down the water slides in sleeping bags covered with oil was hilarious, including sliding into pillows (I guess?) at the bottom since there is no water. And that also was a good way to set up the fire as well.
Melissa being back to normal is a huge relief for me. I seriously hated her storyline so much so it's nice to at least have her be a normal character again.
Loved the part with the trailer on fire leading Pat right to them. And I even liked how he was onscreen for ten seconds before being killed off and that was a cool way for them to introduce Kristen Wiig into the story.

Now that Pat is dead do they even go out on the yacht now? He was the whole reason they couldn't stay in L.A.

No, they were going on the boat to get away from the mainland where all the nuclear fires are gonna be, and taking it down to Zihuatanejo.

Mercifully, the season is over. The premise has such great potential, realized in early episodes, but it has turned fairly meh lately.
Bringing in the kid smacks of desperation by the writers. See, e.g., Cousin Oliver and that son of a bitch Scrappy Doo.
I hope the next season is the last. Wrap it up before it turns to compete shite.

Next season will certainly hinge on the involvement of Wiig.
If they actually make it to Mexico, I hope they show/reference Trump's Wall...

Remember when Married with Children brought in Seven? What the hell was that all about, then he just disappeared.

Well, it got renewed for a season. But this year they'd better have a contingency plan for if (and likely when) it gets canceled.
So much promise here they wasted. Could have gone to Area 51 and messed around there or any of a thousand other places that would have been interesting. Little stuff like the slide ending with pillows like last week, or them playing jenga with gold bars, those were awesome. Not sure how Mexico is going to make the show better but interested to see how it plays out.
