Well it looks like north baton rouge will get the ER that they've been wanting. With budget cuts and the state having to borrow money I wonder how long this will last?

I'd say access to emergency care can find a place in any budget. Get rid of something unnecessary.
Like the Department of Administration.

Honestly, I bet some MD residents will get unreal trauma experience there.
Trauma units are always great in crime ridden areas of the country. Chicago, Memphis, New Orleans.

Won't be enough for Gary. Mark my words.

I'm interested to see how this plays out as far as how admitting will be handled, what specialty backup they will have as a free-standing, what diagnostic capabilities they will have with respect to radiology, etc,.

Weird. OLOL is probably about as close to the center of population for East Baton Rouge as you can possibly get.

They will probably have an ER but not a trauma center. They will admit to OLOL main campus. A few labs and x-rays will be on site.
The way those idiots use the ER is disgusting and hurts the people that really need it.

Fat Gary has been FREAKING out about OLOL getting to open the ER. He is in serious melt down mode and it's hysterical. He didn't get crappy Champion the job like he promised and is now calling everyone names.
I guarantee you that he had some consulting agreement with Champion in the event they were able to open. No doubt about it. I know for an absolute 100% fact that the reason the governor brought OLOL in was because he did NOT like fat Gary and didn't want to have to deal with him because he is such a loud mouth. Couldn't have happened to a better person.![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

how can a bankrupt state afford that?

North BR doesn't need an ER, it needs a sterilization center and an accompanying roaring furnace disguised as a government welfare office.

Why should we have another ER in Baton Rouge, when you have some parishes that have actual tax paying citizens going a lot further to go to an ER?
