Yes you can get them with a speaker. It's really easy. They have the calls programed in so just pick a cotton tail distress call and it will do everything else. Throw a green light on the AR's or whatever weapon of choice. They can't pick up the green light. By baiting them you could draw coyotes in that weren't in your area if you left it out too long. The calls work well and no need for bait.

Not to mention calling is a blast.

poisoning is a felony, also unintended poisonings are even worse...

Coyotes are natural predators
They're not native to the deep south until the last 100 years or so. Also, they have 3-12 pups a year and their gestation cycle is only 2 months. These things are like pigs and rabbits with their birthing... Except they ARE predators like you said.
I don't advocate poisoning them either just saying they used to be prairie and desert dogs out west and now they're everywhere. And there's a lot of them.

I've only seen it done one time and it was during the spring when hunting season wasn't going on, so no risk to anybodies dog.
I'm not on that lease anymore and I cant do it on our place because we have bears. As much as I hate them, I can't risk killing one of them on accident.

Ever tried to get a pissed off owl off a hook?
When I use to hunt in the swamp people would run trot lines during high water and leave lines hanging. Had to be careful riding a 4 wheeler through there. One morning as it started getting light I could see movement. looked through my scope and saw an owl hooked on the line. Hook went in the meaty part of his thigh. Was a task to get it out but im sure he appreciated it.

That's F'ed up. Shoot them on sight if you have to but don't subject an intelligent mammal to a prolonged horrible death like that.
The need to kill them in the first place is debatable. Natural predators have a place in our woods. You and your rifle alone can't keep nature in balance. Coyotes target vermin and cull the population of larger species (old, weak, unlucky). They target young feral hogs too. If they can't kill older hogs, they might be able to harrass them enough that they move on. I say leave them alone.
