yea needless to say i was pretty upset haha. Several people I knew where using MUCH cheaper scopes without any problems.
I was assured several times that these scopes could handle the recoil and that they were tested on .50 cals. Broke the first one and figured it was just my bad luck, after the second repeated the same failure i called it quits and swapped brands.

I have a friend that has the Nikon PS5 and a Vortex DBHP (1 model higher than what I was shopping)
He put them side by side to compare for me. He said the Nikon was clearer, sharper, and smoother to operate the mag dial. I think both are good scopes and I'd probably be happy with either, but I trust this guy's advice and think I'll go with the Nikon.
