Why is Houston only a 8.5 favorite over Cincinnati for tomorrow night?

Cincy should have beaten them last year and the game is in Ohio.

Because Tommy Tuberville coached teams make easy money bets look silly

Is Ward still out, or didn't practice?

Cincy is coached by a legend, Houston is not.

Cincy has a pretty good qb one of the better ones in the country. They can put up points they are at home and ward is coming off an injury

Home dogs on Thursday nights tend to be easy money.

eta: 14-2 in 2013 & 2014 on spreads 6.5+ LINK

eta 2: If there ever was a home dog to stay away from, this would probably be it. Houston is legit and I don't trust Tubberville.

The more I think about this I would take Houston and the points. They are playing for a shot at a playoff birth. The only other national televised game is probably going to be Louisville in November. They are going to try to make a statement

I've watched some crazy shite happen on those Thursday night games the last 10 years.

"Only" 8.5

Edit: Where are you even seeing the 8.5 number at. I only see one shop dealing 8.5 and that's Bovada, a book notorious for low limits and not tolerating winners. They do not dictate the market. Everywhere else is 7.5

You must have absolutely no idea how gambling works.

I wouldn't touch this game on either side. Definitely not easy money.

Anyone think the line would be higher if it was a Saturday game?

not really. hayden moore is maybe slightly above average.

to answer the question, cincinnati is not that bad, and houston is likely not yet quite as good as people seem to think. it's a conference game on the road on a thursday night and houston is giving 8.5 points, so that's a lot of respect for them. cincinnati will win 8 games or so, not a complete slouch by any means.

fwiw, i bet on UT-Martin to cover against cincy week one and then bet on cincy to cover against purdue in week 2. im locked in on the pulse of this bearcat team
