The problem is you're making up an analogy that isn't realistic.
I've never known someone to use the white power salute to mean anything other than white supremacy(still not sure why you brought up David Duke to that point...), so you're creating an analogy on something we've never seen before. That is why it actually would be an issue, because it was be difficult, darn near impossible to believe that was the white player's actual intent.
