Same coaching except, Etling's two years at Purdue

At which he was not successful or else he would have stayed.

Nice try but as usual a false premise.

As a highly touted qb out of high school I would run from LSU. But last night Brennan tweeted "thats why I'm an LSU commit!"
With Miles record with qbs how do we keep getting these qbs out of high school?

Because they are smarter than you?

Etling footwork looked fine. Cam can coach footwork and so can Whitfield. A known qb guru. Harris gets to nervous in the pocket. That's the biggest reason his footwork looks off.

Agreed, which begs the question, why couldn't Miles see the difference between Harris and Etling and pull the trigger on the switch?

Well, to answer a rational question finally here, it has been said by many folks that during practices, Brandon is lights out. Etling has only been eligible for 2 games at LSU. He came in, in his second game. So it's not like we've had him on the bench for a whole season behind a QB screwing up. I understand we look at it now, and think he should have played against Wisconsin, but if Harris really outshines in practice like they say he does, I can see the coach wanting to stay with him and let him work through it. They also say he is a bit of a head case. Pulling him in the first game is a way to pretty much guarantee you'll lose him.

He cannot be a spread/HUNH..QB...he can't make the touch throws...can't throw a ball into tight spaces ...they would be better for him because he can't make the reads in Cameron's offense and these offenses require one read versus multiple reads typically ...

Our offense was finally open because Cam trusted a QB to be able to think

think of all of the coaching he's had with cam and whitfield...
no one could fix his mechanics, footwork etc

Exactly why Miles should have tried Etling in a real game before now. It is what it is. BH's only hope to be an SEC QB is to run the ball 7 to 10 times a game.

Look I hate our scheme as much as the next LSU fan but I'll be damned if Etling didn't execute it.

My thoughts about it too. He did a better job.

Harris had a couple of years to get it right, and he was still abysmal. He was horrible.

Do I feel bad for him? Of course. I feel bad because he had every chance in the world and still couldn't do it. I feel bad for him, but worse for LSU that we played a QB that wasn't capable.

I feel bad for Etling that Les stuck his hand in the playbook for the second half. I feel bad for LSU fans who have had to suffer through this.

Do I feel bad for Brandon Harris? no. He's a big boy. Make some plays and you're still in the game.

People who talk about "participation trophies" now want to give one to Brandon Harris. Pressure? You"re a "god" on campus and beyond if you just complete passes that any quarterback should be able to complete.

If you can't handle that, step forward and get that participation trophy. He ain't an unprivileged child.

I wasn't as physically gifted as Harris, but I could make those throws. It just happened that the guy in front of me, Jeff Bower, made them better and was a better athlete. Harris isn't being asked to do anything difficult. That's the frustration for the coaching staff. Every stage is too big for him. It isn't practice.
