Why would you want to tote around at 100% capacity all of the time?

"all the time"... some people go camping 95% of the time maybe once or twice a month usually within an hour where you live. So all the time might be here and there. I don't know what OP plans to do. And a half ton towing 7-8k is not 100%. Half ton would do quite fine.

If you towed at 100% capacity every mile on a light duty truck, it would likely die an early, smokey, leaky, miserable death pretty quickly. They're not built to be anywhere close to that duty cycle.
