Cafe Jefferson on Jefferson Island New Iberia. If you don't sit down for a meal, at least drive through the gardens there and on Avery island.

The food there is great though and it overlooks the lake.

The Latin Corner is the Cuban restaurant in MC. That's the only place I'll eat there.

If you want a true Louisiana poboy go to Bon Creole in New Iberia. They have good plate lunches and gumbo too. Hole in the wall type place with a gravel parking lot but boy its good!

Their combo poboy has oysters, shrimp, fried fish, and crawfish on it, and a whole bunch at that!

If you find yourself in Broussard at lunch time, go to Shadetree Cafe for lunch. Daily special or menu items are solid. Lonnie offers a great soft shell crab poboy, a grilled shrimp Asian wrap that's killer as well as comfort food like meat loaf or hamburger steaks.
Get their before noon tho as he gets really busy at 12pm. Hard to find something he offers that isn't good.

Avery Island and Tabasco tour is really nice.
Poches in Breaux Bridge ( just east of Laffy on I-10) has a great plate lunch, crawfish étouffée, smothered rabbit or pork back bone stew. Pick up some frozen ponce or chaudin, stuffed chickens or pork chops to take home.
