surely they would pay him as much as us. he's got a good thing going there in the ACC.

as for Herman, the talking heads/pundits are saying that he's a texas man. if Houston gets in the Big 12 he gets lots of money. he would only leave for UT or A&M.

we're going to have to go to the NFL, or get the best coordinator with potential we can get. do we want a mid-major guy? Because I can't think of any top coach who is looking to leave his situation?

and Kiffin. he's failed twice as head coach, and he wouldn't be here long, most likely. kids are in California. just don't see him as a good fit. and we can't trust him.

Maybe we should calm down with all of the coaching change speculation since we've only played one game this year?

He wouldn't. He just signed a 7 year $44 million extension at FSU, and that's just his base salary. Regardless that his buyout is only 5 million, he's not going anywhere. He has a great thing going at FSU and is getting paid 6 million a year. He has it made. That ship sailed when we wouldn't fire Les last season

7>5

Pure speculation on what it would take to get him here of course.

Because he's wanted to be the head coach here since before he went to Florida State. LSU is the only school that could lure him away and I believe they still can. I'm perfectly fine with Jimbo or Herman. Both are very good offensive coaches who also understand the importance of being strong on both sides of the ball.

more, his contract escalates every year over the next 7 years and his incentives are nice too. His base salary this year is over 5 million

If you believe the rumors and what's been said, before F King jumped in, the proposed contract was 6.5 mil.

For the same reason that many people change jobs. Money, location and resources.

Maybe he likes Baton Rouge better than Tallahassee if the money is equal. Maybe he likes the idea of locking down the state of LA instead of battling everyone in the whole state of Florida.

If this is your approach, expect a Mullen or Kiffin. Disaster in other words.

More money, SEC, wants to get back to a place he likes better.. Not saying he will, but it's possible.

Didn't he sign that in January 2015 ? If that wasn't a problem last November why would it be a problem now? Not saying he would come here, but I don't think that'd be an issue here.

Tallahassee isn't great by any means, but it's closer to the beach and FSU has a more fertile recruiting base than LSU.

To win?

We're paying numb nuts 4.4 million for mediocrity. What's another $600K?

This can certainly be debated. There may be more (as in abundance) talented players, but you're also competing with 2 other high level schools in Miami and Florida for that talent. At LSU, who else in state competes for the talent? ULL?

No saying we get either coach but here are some counters to your arguments.

FSU pays their assistants 1.2 million less than LSU. With 9 assistant coaches allowed that a 133k extra per coach. That's a big difference. Fisher had to fight to get it as high as it is now.

Houston is not getting in the Big 12, they are already in the Big 12 media market. Texas isn't firing Strong since they seem to be trending up. Sumlin has A@M looking good early but of course that's par for the aggies so we will see how that plays out.

He's not leaving FSU.
I always laugh at LSU fans who think certain coaches are going to come crawling to Baton Rouge for the LSU job.

It might have happened last year. Too late now.
