All coaching. No roll out to the right, but we roll our right handed QB left?

Like who? Who's been down as long as LSU while putting such an insane number of guys in the NFL?

Auburn, a&m, fsu, georgia all recruit on the same level as lsu and they all have had down years.

What are you counting as down?
The last 5 years under miles have a better win loss record than Saban's tenure at lsu. where you sayknv lsu was down when saban left? also the last 5 years we have finished top 16 4 times
You cant just use the nfl for talent. Tim tebos doesnt count as a nfl player for UF yet he is one the best qbs in cfb history.
Miles also has the great numbers to back up having those nfl players.
#1 win % in lsu history.
#7 win % in sec history
#1 ooc win % in sec history

quote:

's clearly under achieving.

If miles has underachieved the every coach in lsu history has underachieved.
Miles has had the best tenure in lsu history.

I understand that Bama is in the division, but LSU is now mediocre in the SEC. Has been for a few years now, even though they recruit at a very high level.

Its not just bama. Since 2006 miles has either been or faced the national title game participant.

You are seeing the light now Ricky..... I watched a ton of football this weekend and saw offenses that were productive with freshman qbs..... Look at Texas , unreal how they were able to come up with a gameplan that scored a ton of points....

I had always seen the light. You known
i was in favor of firing him for Jimbo. You know i said this year was make or break for Miles. After that showing with an entire off season he needs to go. I wouldnt mind if they let him go now and let Aranda be interim. Let Aranda prove himself over the rest of the season. Im really frightened to put the next coach in alleva's hands.

I said "in the NFL since '11".

Being mediocre in the SEC since the '11 season.

You keep bringing up his over all record. I know it's tough to digest, but if you're an employee who had a great run in your first few years, then peaked, then is clearly in a downward trend when you have all of the resources you could possibly want on hand, you are UNDER ACHIEVING.

My bad for misinterpreting where you are coming from.

I can completely agree that overall, his time here has been awesome. I'm just saying that we are now on the wrong path w/ Miles, and have been for a few years now.

Every coach has flaws.

Does Les change his offensive game plan for the title game, well of course not,

Worst argument I've seen. You can argue he didn't make half time adjustments. But when you have a season like he did, why change the philosophy? They dominated everyone they played that year, and they beat Bama.

quote:

Jimbo Fisher gets it,

He does? He struggles to barely beat GT and Miami year in and year out.

quote:

Les really has done no more than produce 10-2 teams each season,

In the SEC, the hardest league to navigate. Do you realize how hard this is? Other SEC coaches except one just do not do this year in and year out.

quote:

Watch Alabama's new quarterback this year and watch how he progresses compared to our quarterbacks, you be the judge.

You want to bash miles but continually compare him to Saban, who will go down as one of the greatest.

Listen, miles has his faults, and this needs to be his last season, but put together a reasonable argument.

You do realize that since 2011 we have the 2nd most wins in the sec right?

And again, did you consider Saban underachieving at lsu?

Our last 5 years have a better win loss record than Saban's tenure at lsu and Saban at lsu coached in a far far easier division than it is today.
While at lsu saban never faced a national champ in sec play.

Its time for a change but Miles tenure shouldnt be seen as underachieving.

I dont think the average cfb fan realizes how hard it is to average 10 wins for over a decade while playing in the most talent rich division in cfb.
Hell most teams cant win 9 games for a 5 year stretch.
From 2009-2013 only 4 programs out of 126 were able to win 9 games every year and lsu was one of them.

You need to look at our last 2 draft classes.

Bama's 2016 draft class was almost as big as our 2015 & 2016 draft classes combined.

You have kept saying over and over that it was Harris being young as to why he has been pretty bad. What do you think the reason now????? I agree they aren't using him correctly, but it's the same as last year with clock management and wasting time outs....

He took over lsu when it was better shape than it has ever been by far and it's not even close. Saying that I've always liked miles but his unwillingness to make changes has killed us the last 4 years. Heck everybody on the most part agrees nick saban is the best coach in college football today and one of the best ever, and every year you here of him bringing other coaches in to understand what they are trying to do offensively and defensively. Always making changes and open to new ideas that may make his team better. When is the last time we heard of les doing anything like this and then it looking like he tries to use some of those ideas in his own philosophy. When you stop trying to get better others will pass ya up

05 to 07 teams were 34-6 with Jimbo and Pelini as the coordinators. Went to two SEC CGs - won one - and one BCS NC.

Since Jimbo and Bo left (along with Saban recruits) after the 07 season LSU is 78-27 with one SEC Title and a bad loss in the BCS CG.

The numbers say that Les isn't as good without the two great coordinators and when he had to develop his own players.

I have no desire to have pelini anywhere in this state. He's been pathetic since he left. We also gave up lots of points while he was here. We just had a good offense. Our defense after pelini (actually after malveto) really took off
