absolutely loved it. don't know if you knew i was a big fan of Jimi or just a lucky assumption, but thanks for that link.

I started semi-collecting guitars a couple years ago (even though I can't play anything).
I had to own an Olympic White Amrican Stratocaster like the one he used at Woodstock. Took me about 9 months to find one, and it's kinda expensive item to just stay in it's case, but damn she's beautiful

NIce.

MY best friend is a good guitarist and a great tech.

He bought a Hendrix Woodstock replica. Except he removed the tremelo. Oh, well.

Others can play Hendrix, but Hendrix created that sound and style to satisfy an internal hunger. That is what made Hendrix so special. Following in the footsteps of giants is common, giants are rare.

i have the term bar, but it's still in the original ziplock bag in the case.
every now and then I take it out tune it and strum a little, but i've never learned to play anything yet, so that and my Les Paul typically stay locked up as items i hope to eventually pass on to kids or grandkids

oh, it's not that I don't want to play it. I'd freakin love to be able to play. but with the way I work, I rarely have time to try to learn it. I also lake the discipline to just start with the basics.

I own 3 guitars because I think they're beautiful instruments and would love to one day learn it.

i have a 2010 Candy Apple red (similar to the shade of red David Gilmour played later in his career) MIM standard strat.

I have a 2015 Black Cherry Epiphone Les Paul 1960s tribute plus. it's about as close to being a full blown Gibson as you can get without spending a shitload of money. has true Gibson pickups and is solid mahogany like the American makes. bought it because of the finish. it's not like any other I've ever seen.

and of course my 2012 American Standard Strat in Olympic White with maple fretboard like Jimi's.

Which is what made Hendrix a fixer, tinkerer, winder of pickups, and overall guitar modifier.

Jimi was half white and his mom was 100% Indian. I hope you don't think that's racist.

How did you come about creating this biography?

First Jimi song I ever heard...love it.

Funny to think he took the stage at 8:30 in the morning and played for 2 hours to a diminishing crowd.

And sad to think that he died only a year later...

And he also had a genius in Roger Mayer at his disposal. Big, big part of Jimi's sound.

technically, he didn't.
he drowned in his own vomit while drunk and on sleeping pills, but not a lethal dose of anything.
