Umm, have you seen this current generation that is in college? They insist on being treated like children and being coddled from the outside world at large. They are very willing to sacrifice their freedom in the name of safety, especially from ideas. They have no interest in socializing with people who have a different opinion than they do. They have no idea how to hold a decent conversation or debate. They are certainly socially stunted.

And the reason for a lot of that IMO is because they are largely protected from that kinda shite by mainly associating with the real world via their devices.

It's so easy to deal with things when you're removed and are behind a keyboard or on a device. Dealing with things in real life and in person is totally different, and it creates vital, life-changing social skills. Kids today are lacking those a good bit.

And of course it doesn't mean that all kids are social idiots and never have face to face social interactions. But I certainly don't see how anyone can think that it isn't trending downward.
