Offensive Line

All the talk is "if" Brandon Harris does well we will do well. I am really not worried about Harris. My concern is our offensive line. The 3 game losing streak saw our guys up front get murdered...Alabama was soul destroying. Consequently, if our line drops their nuts and wins the line of scrimmage then we dominate. GEAUX TIGERS!!!!

KJ Malone is a fine left tackle

They were getting beat due to the opponents putting 10 in the box because we couldn't pass the ball

Certainly, that plays (a big) a part in it. However, the guys up front were straight up getting their arse whooped by the guy in front of them. We looked great against inferior lines but when we stepped up to play a team that could play up front we got stomped. I feel that if we improve on the line and get the tight ends involved we are gonna be looking good (and yes I realize that has been said before ie. tight ends)

I saw Jerald Hawkins in street clothes during warm-ups last night, and I thought he should've stayed one more year. LSU starting LT this year is probably going to be rotational player this year, but would've been a first rounder in the upcoming draft.

I thought we put up over 500 yards of offense against Ole Miss??? It's kinda difficult to do that if your O-Line is getting "murdered".

That goes for both sides of the ball.

I believe at one point we had 3 freshman on the O-Line in November due to injuries so there's that to consider. Physical development and maturity matters a lot for O-Linemen.

shite dude, don't concern yourself with the offensive line. Just read this post, it is covered and will be one of the best ever if not the best by a large margin. DON'T WORRY, BE HAPPY !!!

I do like the fact that we get to practice against the 3-4 more to allow Harris, Fournette, and the o-line to get more looks at blocking that alignment. We even have the big bodies to replicate the alignment they'll see in that game. I also like that Arden Key gives the left tackle a look at dealing with a Myles Garrett type player when the time comes. I think everything is there to make sure we have the most prepared left tackle for the season. It's just about using them to prepare and cultivate the right game plan within 2-weeks.

I feel like we may have to make adjustments on the o line as the year goes on but I still like this group as a whole . We may have to give some help to the left side, use backs to aid in pass blocking but I feel we will find the best 5 pretty soon. Wouldn't be suprised to see a freshman step up and do big things.

The problem with the line isn't talent. The overall talent and especially depth are better than we've had in several years. We are going to have to depend on a few younger guys, and we have some guys who may not be playing in their most ideal position (Pocic, for example). Chemistry and experience look like the biggest potential issues, but we won't know if those will be a problem until we see this group play some games together. As long as everyone gets healthy by the beginning of SEC play, I think we will be ok.

This is not true, Alabama played base and beat us one on one, did you watch the game?
