I bet he got some good shite.
I don't smoke weed but all this bullshite, 1950's mentality surrounding it is making want to roll up the biggest marijuana cigarette in all of Christendom!

People still get mad about weed?
This.
NFL is a dinosaur.
If the AFL were still around, they would have legalized it 30 years ago for their players.
If it's legal in the state, who cares?
Most NFL players probably have their medicinal licenses for aches and pains.

Except some of the NFL and NBA athletes. Plus music stars...they are losers compared to you.

I dont think people realize that a majority of Dr. prescribed pain killers are LITERALLY heroin.

Doesn't matter if it's legal or not.
If my employer who is paying me millions of dollars a year says I can't do it, then guess what? I don't fricking do it.
Weed whiners are the worst kinds of people.
Should it be legal? Probably. But it isn't (in most places) and is still banned by the league. Makes no sense to jeopardize your career over weed.

I said bad decision making. Getting involved with trashy women. Most NFL players don't get accused of domestic violence. And then this weed story. Another distraction for the Cowboys. Keep your name out of the news. End of story

The bigger issue is that marijuana is a banned substance by the league, and most NFL athletes have admitted to the fact that smoking weed (especially right before a game) has an effect on your on-field performance. I can only imagine the effects of long-term smoking on professional athletes and their performance

Yup much better having these guys get addicted to painkillers

I don't think he has jeopardized anything. Taking a stroll through a store doesn't mean you bought anything, or even intended to.
Was it smart? No. Is it damning? No.

Correct. He might be thinking "they can stop me from smoking it, but they can't stop me from smelling it."

Don't forget doctors, lawyers, etc. Behind every extremely successful person you can typically find some sort of substance abuse, whether it be coffee/adderall/cocaine to keep on grinding, or weed/alcohol to relax/deal with stress.

Completely irrelevant.
If my employer tells me I can't indulge in an illegal drug, then I have two choices: Indulge and risk termination or be an adult and avoid using so I keep my job.
It has nothing to do with what SHOULD be. It has everything to do with what IS. And right now weed IS illegal and will get players suspended if they get caught indulging.
For the record, I don't care one way or the other about the legality of weed. I think the federal government should have no say and it should be left to the states to decide. But for now, smoking weed isn't worth risking a 7 figure a year job.
ETA: I also know Zeke wasn't caught smoking it (albeit it wouldn't surprise me if he was) and it wasn't illegal for him to be there. However, when you are a high profile player playing for a high profile team, I don't feel it's the smartest move to be seen in a place like that.

Exactly. Lets just let the players abuse painkillers instead. And some are probably illegally prescribed

Did anyone actually read the article, where it says he didn't purchase anything?

I mean, they are adults. They can do what they want. But people getting mad over suspensions and drug tests for weed and pain killers is comical.
You are told ahead of time by the league, what the consequences of indulging in substance abuse are. Then people get angry when punishment is carried out.
Again, not about what SHOULD be legal, but about what IS legal. And right now, shite like weed and certain pain killers will cost you hundreds of thousands of dollars. Just not worth it, IMO.

As expected, many people are missing the part where there is no evidence of buying or smoking weed...

Zeke was smoking or buying weed in there? I must have missed that part of the story

Neither to my knowledge.
My comments were more directed at the generic discussion of players actually using.
But again, if I'm a high profile player playing in the NFL (not to mention the Dallas freaking Cowboys), I'm not stepping foot inside or near a marijuana dispensary.
Zeke's choice though.
