As you may remember, my sister Shae died suddenly recently. She was extremely close to her nephew and I know how much he meant to her.

Although Christmas is many months away, I want to pick out a nice set of LEGO blocks for him to have under the tree from his Aunt Shae. He loved playing Lego blocks with his aunt.

I have no idea what Lego sets are popular anymore. I know my nephew likes Ninja turtles and other action sets. I am hoping to buy now so i can avoid the madness as Christmas nears. I know Lego sets costs $$$ so I expect that.

Thanks.

ETA: Mistakenly posted "my son: when i meant to say "my nephew".

Buy bulk sets on eBay. Get the ones that have been washed.

This. I never followed the rules on lego sets. Better to create with imagination.

What is your kid into? There are so many themes, it really comes down to what he likes. Is he a sports fan?

Its cool to have sets but then mix them up. I think Legos is the only type of toy I had.. Well legos, GI Joe and Star Wars, but I had a lot of legos. I use to like to get the set, put it together then put it in with all the other legos. I use to like to use parts from other sets to make better ships for GI Joe..

You can not go wrong with Star Wars maybe also including the movies with his gift.

Maybe take him for ice cream or to the toy store as a day treat and tell him he can pick out a $5-$10 set. I guarantee he will be also be eyeing all the big sets giving you an idea of what he is interested in.

They have programs to help parents find out what is the best type of legos to buy their children?

Sorry for your loss

Fortunately for me, my two year old has boxes and boxes of Legos and micro machines (if anyone remembers these) in my attic waiting for him....

Actually yes.

LEGO engineers, yes again a real thing, will work to set up something that speaks to the child...particularly in situations like this. It won't be major it won't be extravagant but it will be nice.

I never paid your alter creating worthless piece of shite much attention. I always figured you were just waiting to go somewhere...anywhere but weren't strong enough to move the wheels.

You have my attention now. Enjoy.

ETA: 3 downvited from you and your alters and nothing changed?
