Why is it dirty for a salesmen to make a profit or a Dealershipn but then you go buy "Beats headsets" that cost $12 to make and you pay$199?

Because the Beats price is non-negotiable while car buying is a pain in the arse due to haggling and hidden fees.

The dealership lobby is such a BS legal overreach. We should have warehouses with every make and model available at a sticker price. Purchase products the same way I buy ketchup at Costco.

I don't have a problem with people making money. In the last 5-10 years, it has gotten much harder for a salesman to make good money in the car business. The money is steadily being shifted more and more to the back, because those profits are still relatively hidden from the consumer. This causes the salesman to have to be dirtier and dirtier in order to continue making pretty decent money. It also forces many salesman to commit all different types of fraud: general types and credit app.

I have a good friend that has made $210k+ for the last several years as a sales manager (kind of general manager...but the pricipal is the true general manager) at a decent size dealership. I also have a good friend that has made $150k+ as a damn good finance guy. It is ridiculous that a hustler at a dealership makes more than your pediatrician.

Because they're not the second largest purchase a normal person makes. Because I can't haggle Beats down to $150 while you pay full retail plus a bunch of useless bullshite fees.
Call me selfish, but any dollar a dealer makes is a dollar out of my pocket. I've been to homes of some dealership owners - they're a frick of a lot nicer than mine.
