Am I a Democrat?

What I meant by that comment is that it sounds like a "democratic" statement you made. Everyone else is responsible for Harris's and the high school coaches actions, not the individuals themselves!!!!

As a marine the first thing you should be aware of is that "you are responsible for your own actions" And I would like to sincerely thank you for your service to our great country!

quote:

Apologize to reporters for what? They got a story, didn't they? This will be talked about more than if he actually committed somewhere. Is his stunt not news? They should be happy about it.

You couldn't be more wrong!!!! A story came out of the incident but not the story that these reporters went out to report on. I can only assume these reporters have families, I can tell you I wouldn't have taken time away from my family to report on this as I am sure most of them feel that way and most have voiced it already. So if the reporters had been told ahead of time about what was going on that Harris was not committing to a college he was just re-committing to his high school football program, how many do you think would have taken time away from their families at 5pm on a Sunday to cover that? My guess ZERO!!!!

So the coach and the player need to formally apologize for wasting other peoples time away from their families for their own agenda!!! And you can see from the backlash from this stunt that my intelligent view is in the majority not the minority like yours!!!

So waste more of their time?

No it would not be a waste of their time because the conference would not be held under false pretenses like the first one was. That way any reporter that shows up would be showing up on their own volition knowing what to expect. They could choose to show up or not so it would not be a waste of their time if they VOLUNTARILY showed up unlike the first conference which was held under false pretenses.

But the coach and player should be held accountable for their actions and a forced press conference by the high school administration is apropos punishment for their actions!

How is this a good way of reiterating that these kids are HS players first? That makes no sense.

If this coach at Plaquemine has to exploit his star player to get his team fired up(which I doubt worked), he should really start thinking about a career change.

what jersey is this kid gonna wear in 2016?

that's right. Plaquemine Green Devils. Jamboree's in four weeks.

He'll wear his college jersey in 2017, 13 months from now.

Ok, and? Plenty of top recruits across the nation have committed to play at colleges next year, and it won't have any effect on their HS team. You seem out of your league in two different threads, waterboy.

Get off my lawn

He's 18 and its called showmanship and you want your SEC db's to have it

This doesn't hurt anyone including the reporters who showed up for this. They got a national story out of it

Retarded.

Anyone who doesn't think that this was an immature and ill-advised affair is borderline retarded themselves.

This is possibly the dumbest post you've made on this subject yet. Do you think he was going to skip his senior year and jet around the country talking to colleges if he didn't pull this stunt?

No but I also knew better than the media and most of the recruiting board not to take it super seriously... who did he really affect? So a couple writers burned gas. Whoop tee doo. Feels like yall would rather he commit then and then possibly flip later, that would be the same damn thing.

I love it.

He made a statement to his team that he is worried about the 2016 season and not what he's doing in 2017.

Many of his teammates this is all they have left. They aren't fortunate enough to go play at the next level so to have your leader come out and say "hey guys I'm focused on this high school season and not my college future." Shows what the kid is all about and I commend him for it.

Many recruits now a days worry about their stat line and future and give no fricks about what the outcome is to their games.

95 percent of the players on that Plaq high team won't play college ball like Todd Harris, so for them to be present and him to send a message that he's with them speaks volumes about the kid.

The media should just be thankful that whoever the mastermind behind this decided to this on a Sunday rather than during the week, they would have sat in 5 o'clock bridge traffic

hasn't been mentioned yet in any thread on this and it might not all be that coach, but they've won district three years in a row

wins over Lutcher, Southern Lab, McDonogh #35, Livonia... so yeah whatever he is doing to motivate is probably working

The media should be thankful they were defrauded on their day off since there was less traffic?

That's like saying someone who gets mugged should be okay with it because hey, they didn't get killed. In other words, that's fricking stupid.

Joke- "A thing that someone says to cause amusement or laughter, especially a story with a funny punchline."

I'm familiar with what a joke is. Seems like you could use a refresher, though. You may want to re-read that definition a few more times. Focus on the "funny punchline" part.
