LES MILES SHOULD QUIT TALKING!

First I could care less whether he stays or goes. I only care about the National Championship and if this moron allows conversations w/ UM become the topic rather than this title, then fire him!
To have these conversations w/ the UM pres and ad, then when reported act like your offended and there was nothing discussed except coaching recommendations is freaking ridiculous.
You admit talking to them!
Your in the title game even after blowing the ARK game due to focus on UM. Either coach LSU or leave! Don't continue talking to UM. Guess what, it will make the press you idiot!
Stop talking to them!

Link? So we lost to arky because of the Focus on UM? Never saw proof of that.
It appears Les is just making sure there is no ill will with all the rumors and stuff. I think he has shown that he is far from an idiot in all of this

I too, think that Coach was just smoothing out any ruffled feathers that may have been there after the whole ESPN debacle in Atlanta. Even if he doesn't want that job, he does care about that school as a part of his history.... I can see where he wouldn't want any ill feelings with them. I just wish that the media demons would let this thing go! There's plenty of actual stuff to REPORT instead of trying to brew up something on their own, just to make Les look bad!

If Les thinks he can have a discussion w/ UM and it not make the press then he is truly and IDIOT.
Why is he so concerned about ill will?
His focus should be on the Title game. Why is he having a conversation w/ UM? Why? There nothing positive to come out of it whatsoever, unless he truly wants to go there.

Good Grief it appears to be a courtsey call on a Friday Night. Does Les have permission to go Christmas shopping or will that detract from the NC game too

How could any reasonable person believe that Les could have a conversation w/ UM's AD and PRES and it not make the press, given the events of the last month?
He can smooth all the feathers he wants and make nice as much as he wants, but just wait until they hire a coach. Otherwise it will only fuel speculation and stories. It's been the story of the day!
Why can't Les just wait until the have a new coach before he talks to them? Then it would not be news.

Is Les a 5 year old child? I never realized that the rest of the country was his parents and could tell him who he could and couldn't talk to. Those who are smart enough to know he isn't going anywhere (HIS DAMN STRONG FOOTBALL TEAM) aren't distracted in the least. Sound's like someone has some paranoia! It may be best for you to just sleep for a few weeks, then you can wake up Jan 8th, celebrate a win and our coach.

NOt really especially in this case. LSU fans are getting silly. Saban during the LSU/Bama Game had prominent LSU people staying at his house. NO one but the delusional over there read anything into it. LSU fans of course read a whole much into it and think Saban is about to jump ship and come back. Thus when this whole Drama occured the over the top Saban rumors

Bayou--you speak the truth! Les is a (very) grown man. He doesn't need people to tell him what he can and can't do. That call waited more than a week for things to "cool down"...remember a week ago, Michigan released a statement that Miles was no longer on their list of candidates. There was nothing "fishy" in this call, IMO.

Yes and DUKE is as far from a National Championship in Football as a team can possibly be.
There will be plenty of time for Lester to be super alumnus once the Title Game has been won. To do so now will only get leaked to the press and will only cause the stories of today.

...it's not the Soviet Union. Les is a big boy and can talk to whoever he wants to...and of the collective "we" you listed, you're the only one whining!
Les said publicly (on one of the many occasions that he announced he was staying at LSU) that UM was his alma mater, he loved UM, and would do anything he could to help them...he just wasn't going there.
Maybe that help involved a conversation...one he certainly doesn't need your permission to have...deal with it!
Making you should take the advice you're offering to Les, "just quit talking..."

Exactly. I mean when the President of the University of Michigan is the line you pick up
Les has shown his loyalty to me. He is also smart by smoothing things out. I am under no delusion about the LSU fan base. LEt Les have a average season and they willl turn on him or at least that vocal minority of NEgatigers that are so loud and make life miserable for all of us.

Well Moots, not trying to insinuate that you have a job or anything, but in corporate America people are fired all the time for talking to the competition.
My entire point of this thread was that all of this BS today could have been avoided if Les would have simply not had contact with UM until after they had a new coach.
I just do not want to hear about LES to UM everyday between now and the title game. If a story comes out that has no validity then I will not blame Les for that. But he admits he talked to them. That only helps fuel the story. Also, have you noticed that every time Les talks to UM it hits the press. Someone there is obviously leaking this info.
