A drink like Gatorade or powerade is great for athletes during games and during practices where they burn through their glycogen stores and sweat out all of their electrolytes, but for your average person it is little more than kool-aid. At the very least, get the zero-calorie option.

Like everything else, some of those are good and some nasty as hell.
lime green powerade regular pretty good
zero calorie version; I'd rather drink prestone
grape powerade regular pretty good
grape powerade zero calorie tastes close enough to be acceptable.
Gatorade seems to be better at the low cal versions than powerade.
