So the NHL, NBA and MLB all have fully GTD deals and we know their respective unions would never give that up but do you think that those leagues would be better if deals were only partially GTD like in NFL. Teams would be able to rebuild quicker and players would continue to give max effort rather than get comfortable after getting their payday. Now I'm pro player and not pro owner so you could force teams to spend a minimum amount(salary floor- only MLB needs this)

I believe it varies by sport and CBA. Having guaranteed contracts in MLB is a lot different than having them in the NBA.

How enthusiastic would you be about ramming your head into a 300+ lb behemoth if you were getting a guaranteed contract? If that's me, maybe I'm not going as hard knowing it doesn't matter if you put my backup in or not.

A lot of people wouldn't play football if there wasn't money in it. You're asking people to consistently perform tasks that are not in their best interests. Not really the case with MLB or NBA. Those games are relatively safe to play and don't ask you to punish your body regularly.

NFL guys get paid and check the F out all the time. Dangerous contact sport, so who can blame them. Happens much less frequently in the NBA, guaranteed money or not.

It happens very rarely in hockey, because those guys would play for free.
