The problem what that question is...I should have a right to do either one. I can be nice and do whatever the cop says, which is probably what I'd do in real life unless the cop is being wayyyyyy out of line. But if I don't want to do everything a cop says, the cop should know the limits of my rights and allow me to not do anything he doesn't have a right to force me to do with no issues.
I am not the type to listen to what someone tells me. If anything, if someone "tells" me to do something and they have no impact on what I do, I will do the opposite just because I can. The whole thing about would I rather be a smartass and try to argue my rights or comply and just let the cops do their job and me deciding to just comply, I am just being realistic.
Depending on where I am, if I am stopped for speeding, I just do what I am asked, take my ticket and get it fixed. One time I got a ticket in an area I couldn't get a ticket fixed, I thought "I was going to show them by not paying". I also sent a letter explaining my side of the story, blah blah blah.. You know what happened? I had a warrant out for me in that parish and had to pay even more than the original fee.
If someone is afraid the police could be a threat to them, just be more aware of your surroundings and if possible, try to pull off somewhere that has more people around, etc. But the chances of getting stopped by a policeman who has a certain agenda (like to rape a woman) is probably close to the chance you have of getting into a major wreck (that I am assuming).
I think asking someone to roll their window down all the way is a reasonable request from an officer. I am sure if you ask the girl was not rolling down her window worth a year of probation and 75hrs of community service, she would probably say... no.
