This is the attitude I disagree with. Here's a newsflash Skippy, different jobs pay different wages. You don't get to determine how much of a disparity there should be between occupations. The market determines that. Not happy that Joe is making twice as much as you? Learn to do what Joe does. It's really that simple.

That's the same mindset that the Occupy Wall Street tards have. You don't need to make that much money! Give some to (insert fav group/profession/etc)! GTFO

Its a shite job really for a normal life style. Tons of hours are put into it.

This website has a broad reach. Can anyone shed light on what Indiana HS basketball coaches make? Basketball is to Indiana what football is to Texas so I was just wondering.

Some of these school districts are massive and have a large tax "pie" to cut from. Spend a million dollars on a stadium and then pay a guy $39,000 a year to field a team?

I'm surprised that anybody here is shocked at a 6-figure salary for some high school head coaches.

And to answer a question way up the thread, no high school head coaches don't teach a class. Unless they are in a small district or just LOVE to teach and want a class. But a dude getting paid 6-figures would probably be looked down on for teaching a class? Get your arse back to the gym and study tape!!!

A buddy of mine is a pretty decent high school DC and has had some head coaching gigs too. Just no success yet at a HC. Kind of like a high school version of Wade Phillips.

He's making probably $70-75k I bet for him to want to move. He will probably teach a class though. Or coach a second sport. Easy class or an easy assistant coach gig like track or baseball.

I understand that different jobs pay different wages, but when they fall under the same company (school district), you would expect the one that has more of an affect on clients (students)to be the one with the higher pay. Since this is not the case, I have every right to question it.

I can see that has rattled some nerves on this board. In just this thread I have been referred to as Skippy and Boss ... maybe someone will call me Champ soon.
