Has anyone in the thread claimed they could make the shot blindfolded, yet?

I'm glad he plugged that fool, but that's nowhere near say, Charles Whitman territory.
I honestly think you have your first critique here.

Just saying.

Absolutely nobody in this thread has made any such claim.

But.... a blindfolded shot at that distance is really not that difficult of a shot TBH

Had to be tough in those deer camps over the years. The sacrifices you made for deer jerky. Thank you for your non-service

Whitman was a trained sniper. He was somewhat firing indiscriminately. Lots of folks over a wide field of view at first...

Interestingly, one of his wounded died in 2001 and they said it was directly due to his wound and it was called a homicide...35 years after being shot.

Isn't that something?

You sure? His Wiki only mentions he was a Marine and did better than average on his marksmanship. What source are you looking at? I am genuinely curious because I remember the filming of The Deadly Tower in Baton Rouge when I was a kid.

I am not. I was reading about a couple of different things later in the evening and may have confused some stuff.
I apologize if I misspoke.

The Marine Corps Scour Sniper program didn't come into being until Vietnam. In WWII and Korea some Marines who were expert marksmen were given scoped rifles to fill the sniper role but actual school trained snipers didn't exist until the late 60s after the Whitmam incident.

Whitman learned to shoot growing up. His dad taught him.

No one is arguing. We are mostly just laughing about the argument that took place in the first 32 pages....When gt23 was disparaging everything American and looking to have himself glorified by re-sculpting Mt. Rushmore.
