Fantastic show. Sci Fi, 80s homage, the music, the monster, just all frickin awesome.

Also, lowkey in love with Nancy

Although I grew to like Nancy's personality, and her loyalty to Barb, I just can't get past her emaciated skeletal body/bobble head look.

She's a living version of one of these dolls:

In fact, as much as I LOVE the show, every one of those actors needs to eat a fricking cheeseburger. (Except Hopper and Barb).

Question: Why wasn't Hopper just killed off by the secret agents when they first found him at the gate?

Killing the town Sheriff is kinda hard to keep below the radar. Especially when you don't know how much he knows or who he's told.

I'm wondering what the bargain he made entails exactly. We saw them pick him up after all.

I have a feeling in season 2 he will be working with the G-Men. Maybe he will be trying to find a way to get El back.

Clearly, an homage to A Nightmare Elm Street's Nancy Thompson.

I don't know about this. The end implies that he is supporting her freedom by leaving food for her.

When the kids were out looking for the friend in the woods (can't remember if it was Dustin and Lucas looking for Mike, or all three looking for Will), Dustin yells out "I've got your X-men 134!" which is the Dark Phoenix appearance

That's what I think. Why else would the sheriff leave waffles?

But we need justice for Barb.

Would not be surprised at this happening. When the kids were out looking for the friend in the woods (can't remember if it was Dustin and Lucas looking for Mike, or all three looking for Will), Dustin yells out "I've got your X-men 134!" which is the Dark Phoenix appearance

Did not catch that.

It was Will who yells that though. It was the start of the 1st episode when they are racing their bikes.

I know I'm not the only one. Steve is Jean Ralphio's real dad.

Help me out. Where have I seen that monster before? It was in a video game or something? Human like but face opens up like a squid.

Just watched the first two.

Used to have Winona's flower recliner in my place. Belonged to my grandma

Since most people (including myself) agree that the soundtrack to this series is incredible, here is a link to the complete tracks.

Dustin tells Will in that scene that if he (Will)wins the race he can have any comic of his (Dustin) he wants. Will wins and says x-men 134.

Later when they are searching, Dustin yells "I've got your x-men 134!"

I had to google after watching the first episode. Hopper looks like an old beat up version of Joe Kane from The Program(1993). Not the same actor but they even sound similar.

Snow ball was a reference to the movie "Clerks"

Fantastic series. Felt like one 8 hour movie. The acting was great, the chemistry between the kids was great. Borrowed little parts of so much great 80's culture from ET, to the Goonies, to Steven King novels, to Poltergeist, but did it in a way that felt authentic and enjoyable. Perfect show.
