I was living in Chicago at the time and went to the game with a die hard domer. We had a blast. The lead changed hands many times, and it was a very exciting game. My domer friend was depressed several times in the game, especially during the third quarter when LSU was having its way with the Irish. Actually, it was one of the most exciting college football games I've ever seen. Late I n the third quarter, LSU was going in to score and take a two touchdown lead. However, we threw an interception on the ND 5 yard line that was returned a long way...maybe a pick 6...don't remember exactly. That play turned the tide of the game, and we lost 39-36.
I was exausted mentally after the game, but it was a great game to see live in ND stadium. The small LSU crowd was louder the the much larger ND contingent. Even though we lost, I was proud to be a Tiger in that storied stadium.
I was also at ND stadium in 1985 when LSU beat the Irish 10-7. I was sitting in the seats of a big ND philanthropist on the 50 yard line wearing purple and gold. I was the only Tiger in a sea of Irish. We kicked their butts! That game sealed the deal on the firing of Gerry Faust.

I was there. Their fans were very polite and I felt bad because one of my drunk friends repeatedly spilled drinks on them (unintentionally). Cold as hell.

I was there. That hit on Jarious Jackson cost ND a BCS bowl. I think Reggie Robinson was held on the final Hail Mary. I believed.
Jackson gets hurt on the final play and it costs them a likely 10-1 season. ND still had as much national clout as ever during that time. Who knows? If they don't lose Jackson they may have played for the National Title (remember, FSU played in the NC game with one loss)
Exciting game, but also so frustrating to watch. LSU could move the ball (they had a ton of big plays that day), but watching Tepper's defense was just a helpless feeling. You knew that unless LSU forced a TO, the opponent could hit big plays at will.
That game was like a lot of games in 98 and 99. LSU was so close, yet seemingly so far away. In the end though I guess it has worked out. If LSU has just won a few more of those close games we may never have had the 17 year (and counting) run that followed

I was there, wife and I and another couple, to this day she says it was the coldest game she ever attended.
ate at downtown Chicago steak house night before game. Had left over steak and bloody marys on the drive over to south bend the next day. witnessed notre dame students rocking our fans in a port a potty. bad outcome but great trip.

I was there, the airline lost our luggage and it was pretty cold.
We were shocked at how quiet the crowd was esp. after the game.

I forget the airline but the flights were
Btr to Houston
Houston to clevland
Clevland to south bend on the smallest plane we have ever been on haha
We left btr wearing summer clothes temp in 70's and arrived in south bend smashed with no luggage and temps below freezing.

Was living in StL at the time. One of my Sales Reps is a huge Golden Domer. Whole family showed up at his tailgate and had a blast. Unbelievable game, but hated to lose it in the end. Everyone should have ND on there bucket list.

Who else got the chance to attend this game?
I was there.

What were some of your experiences?
Flew into Chicago (because it was cheaper than flying into Indianapolis and at that time, I was in college), rented a car and drove in. Went to some bar the night before the game that was very close to the campus.
Back and forth game, if I remember correctly and is was one that ND pulled out in the final few minutes.
Aside from the loss, enjoyed my experience. Beautiful campus and not a place I have visited again, although I would if LSU scheduled a future game with them.
