Any of you guys know of a place to get brake pads changed out that's not an arm and a leg in Baton Rouge? went to a place some years back but can't remember the name. Just know it was run by some Asian guy.

Thanks for the help!

Pads are pretty simple

I found some guy off of craigslist to do it after I had already bought the parts

If you've got the time...do it yourself. Saves a bunch of money and is satisfying as hell.

It's so simple you'd be shocked that you ever paid anyone to do it.

Have you seen some of the "techs" doing pad changes? The fact that you can coherently post on here suggests that you are way ahead of their game...

Watch a YouTube video to learn how to change them, get your pads from AutoZone which come with a lifetime warranty and you'll never have to pay for new pads again.
It really is very simple and easy.

Find videos on Youtube for your car. The disc pads are easy. The drum brakes are more difficult.

Those "lifetime" pads are of a harder compound that eats rotors. This is only important for those of you who turn the rotors compared to putting new ones on each pad change.

Mark at University Car Care on Highland replaced mine for fairly cheap. The shop looks super sketchy, but I know a lot of people who swear by it.

Of course, I can get a hell of a good look at a T-Bone steak by sticking my head up a bull's arse, but I'd rather take the butcher's word for it.

I mean, anytime you DIY and save a hundred or more there is that certain level of satisfaction, but brake pads don't really do anything for me beyond that. It's not like it's something you can show off, like a new floor.

cheapest

Not necessarily calling anyone out but it's your BRAKES dude, so going cheap may not be the best course of action unless you're doing it yourself.

Stopping is important
